Outdoor survival skills training can not only help students survive in the natural environment, but also improve their self-confidence, teamwork and emergency response capabilities. Here are some of the main benefits of outdoor survival skills training:

1. Enhance emergency response capabilities

In outdoor survival training, students will learn how to deal with emergencies, such as getting lost, sudden weather changes, or encountering wild animals. By simulating emergencies, students can develop the ability to make quick judgments and responses, and improve their response level in real emergencies.

2. Improve physical fitness and endurance

Outdoor survival training usually requires physical activities such as hiking, building temporary shelters, and finding food and water sources. Through these trainings, students can not only enhance their physical fitness, but also improve their physical endurance and adaptability, so that they can more calmly cope with challenges in the actual survival environment.

3. Improve problem-solving skills

Outdoor survival skills training emphasizes "self-survival". Students need to solve a series of practical problems without modern facilities, such as making fire, purifying water, and building shelters. This helps to improve students' creativity and problem-solving skills, and cultivate the ability to think independently and solve problems.

4. Cultivate teamwork spirit

Many outdoor survival trainings require teamwork to complete. Trainees must cooperate with each other, share resources, and assign tasks. This kind of cooperation can not only enhance team awareness, but also cultivate trainees' ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with others under pressure.

5. Improve self-confidence and psychological resilience

Outdoor survival skills training usually involves challenging tasks, such as long-term survival in the wild, persisting in completing tasks under harsh conditions, etc. After completing these challenges, trainees will gain a great sense of accomplishment and self-confidence, enhance psychological resilience, and be able to remain calm and firm when facing difficulties in life.

6. Learn about the natural environment

Through training, trainees can have a deeper understanding of the laws of the natural environment, including climate change, the growth habits of animals and plants, and the use of wild resources. This knowledge not only helps survival, but also allows trainees to respect and understand the natural environment more and cultivate environmental awareness.

7. Improve personal safety awareness

Outdoor survival skills training allows trainees to master how to avoid potential dangers and learn how to protect themselves and others in different environments. This safety awareness is also very helpful for risk management in daily life.

8. Enhance the love of life and adventurous spirit

Outdoor survival skills training often allows students to experience extremely challenging and fulfilling adventure activities and cultivate an adventurous spirit. This spirit can not only help students face the challenges in life, but also make them love nature more and enjoy every challenge in life.

While I learned many skills that are essential to success in climbing and the outdoors, the most valuable things I took away from this course were the relationships I built and the confidence I gained to take on leadership roles not only outdoors, but in other aspects of my personal and professional life. During the course, I learned how to create an environment where communication across the team leads to effective and positive decision making. I learned how to take into account individual differences, which leads to different dynamics in collaboration.
